Nicolas joined Mathews Samac LLP as an articling student prior to his call to the Ontario Bar in 2024. He primarily works on commercial litigation matters, appearing before the Superior Court of Justice and Small Claims Court on a variety of mandates, including Plans of Arrangement under the Canada Business Corporations Act, and Mareva and Norwich motions. Nicolas further assists clients with estate litigation, wills, and powers of attorney. Based in Edmonton, Nicolas serves as a local point of contact for the firm’s Alberta clients having litigation matters in Ontario.

Nicolas graduated from the Juris Doctor program at the University of Alberta in 2022, where he also completed his undergraduate studies in Sociology and Psychology. Nicolas was co-chair of the Faculty of Law’s Mental Health and Wellness Committee, and volunteered with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre. In 2023-2024, he completed the Law Practice Program through Toronto Metropolitan University.

In 2021, Nicolas wrote and starred in the University of Alberta’s annual Law Show production. He is an avid writer and filmmaker, as well as a former basketball player and coach. Nic is a diehard fan of the Toronto Raptors.
