COMBAR North American and Offshore Meeting 2026
Thomas Mathews and Joshua Samac attended the Commercial Bar Association’s 2026 North American and Offshore Meeting, held from May 27 to 29, 2026, at the Westin Excelsior Hotel in Rome, Italy.
The conference brought together commercial litigators, barristers, judges, and lawyers from North America, England and Wales, and offshore jurisdictions. The programme included sessions on anti-suit relief, civil fraud, professional and ethical issues in litigation practice, and the effect of geopolitics on global commercial litigation and the rule of law.
On May 29, 2026, Thomas Mathews participated as a panelist in the conference debate, “It is a lawyer’s duty to properly prepare and rehearse a witness,” chaired by Justice Peter Banks of the King’s Bench of Alberta. The meeting also included a visit to the Italian Supreme Court of Cassation and a gala dinner at the Chiostro del Bramante. Thomas and Joshua’s attendance reflects the firm’s continued interest in developments affecting commercial disputes, advocacy, and cross-border litigation.
